ONE HUNDRED AND ONE PAUL NEWMAN - Roxy In The Box for Dynamo Art Factory

ONE HUNDRED AND ONE PAUL NEWMAN

Roxy In The Box, a Neapolitan artist famous for the use of contemporary icons in her works, created together with the guys from Dynamo Camp a work focused on the figure of Paul Newman, founder of the first Hole In the Wall Gang Camp in the USA and from which the Serious Fun network was born.
Inspired by the CHATTING, VASCIO ART project, created in the alleys of Naples repopulated for the occasion by characters such as Basquiat, Wharol, la Monnalisa and Frida Kahlo, One hundred and One Paul Newman builds a bridge that links the past to the present in a plot that it is at the same time also an exchange of stories. Roxy gives body and voice to Paul Newman’s icon by relocating it in a space familiar to it, celebrating it and saving it from the use/abuse of images in contemporary society.
During the workshop, each Camper personalized a Paul Newman poster, creating a repetition of 101 different portraits starting from the same base provided by the artist, thus contributing to the creation of an enormous pop installation.
